Outside My Comfort Zone - Challenge #12

Hey sweeties,

É altura de mais um desafio e o de hoje é " que foi escolhido pela fantástica Emma que aproveitou a onda de calor e achou que era hora de deitarmos cá para fora a boémia que temos em nós.

Por isso o truque foi pensar em algo muito casual, muito verão, perfeito para um fim de tarde quente na esplanada com os amigos a beber uma bebida fresca. Então escolhi uma maxi skirt verde água (a cor da estação), um top branco (esta é uma novidade para mim pois tops brancos são aquela luta), sandálias e acessórios.

It's time for another "Outside My Comfort Zone Challenge" and this one was chosen by the lovely Emma. She thought that since we were having a heat wave we should go along with the mood and let the bohemian babe we have inside us.

So the secret was to wear something very casual, very summerish, perfect for a warm evening in the pub with friends and a cold drink. So I chose a green maxi skirt (the color trend of this season), a white top (this is something new for me because I have a think with white tops), sandals and acessories.

Hey babes,

Mais um dia de verão, mais um vestido que vos mostro porque o verão serve mesmo para isto: andarmos com a pernoca de fora e mostrar o bronzeado que temos (ou no meu caso ainda é mais a palidez das minhas pernocas).

O vestido de hoje é bastante simples, de corto direito, onde se realça os contrastes geométricos das cores.

Adoro-o!! 

Another Summer day, another dress that I show you because Summer is really for this: going out showing our legs and our tan (in my particular case is more showing the pale white skin of my legs).

Today's dress is quite simple, straight cut, where you may see the high geometric color constrast.

A Statement Necklace

Hey, hey curvies,

Aqui há uns dias fui contactada e recebi um colar fantástico da Damart e pensei logo que era ótimo para construir um look de verão, pois como já sabem sou um pouco viciada em padrões animais!
O colar é bastante simples mas lindíssimo e por isso usei-o com um vestido preto para que pudesse sobressair. 
É uma peça ótima para quem quiser começar a iniciar-se neste mundo maravilhoso dos maxi colares! :)

A few days ago I was contacted and received a gorgeous necklace from Damart and I thought it was great to put together a summer look because, as you know, I a little bit addicted to animal print!

Adoro a Brooke Elliot e apesar do grande contraste que a sua pele faz com o cabelo, acho que o preto lhe fica mesmo bem e o baton vermelho deu ali aquele toque final!

I really love Brooke Elliot and even though the high contrast between her skin and hair, I think black really suits her and the red lipstick gave that final touch!

Concert Look

Hey, hey curvies,

Verão é sinónimo de calor e praia mas também, de noites quentes, festivais e concertos ao ar livre. E como sou uma pessoa tipo cigarra que adora sair no verão, hoje mostro-vos um look que levei a um concerto há dias.

Nestas coisas temos que ir práticas e confortáveis e preparadas para qualquer situação por isso nada melhor que umas calças, top e sandálias rasas. Depois é caprichar nos acessórios para dar aquele up necessário!

Summer means hot weather and beach but also warm nights, festivals and open air concerts. I a girl that really likes to stay at home on winter and go out in the summer, so today I show a  look I took to a concert a few days ago.

In these situations we must go in a pratical and confortable way and ready for any thing so nothing better than jogger pants, a top and flat sandals. In the end just add some accessories to give that final touch!

1) Quando e porquê que começaste o blogue? When and why did you start to blog?

Comecei o blogue o ano passado, em Julho, simplesmente por adoro moda! Originalmente comecei em 2009, mas não o atualizava. Até que decidi agarrar o touro pelos cornos, acho que tinha receio das criticas mas agora não quero nem saber.

I started blogging last year, in July 2012, purely because I love fashion! I had originally started in 2009, but kept putting off. I just decided to bite the bullet, I guess I was afraid of criticism, but now I couldn’t care less.

2) O mundo da moda plus size está desenvolvido no teu país? Is the plus size fashion world development in your country?

No Reino Unido por acaso não temos muitas razões de queixa pois temos quer cadeias de lojas quer online grandes marcas como a Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Simply Be, Evans e claro a Asos. Ainda existe um longo caminho a percorrer no que toca a prolongar a linha de tamanhos nas lojas regulares mas creio que atualmente estamos na melhor fase que alguma vez estivemos.

We’re quite blessed in the UK to have such great high street and online stores such as Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Simply Be, Evans, and of course ASOS, there is a long way to go in terms of extending sizes in mainstream, (I’m look at you Topshop) but I believe it is the best it has ever been for plus size fashion.

3) Quais são os teus looks e estilos favoritos? What is favorite style and look?

Não tenho bem um estilo favorito. Depende da ocasião e de como me sinto mas no momento estou obcecada com saias, vestidos justos, maxi e minis.

I don’t really have a favourite. It all depends on the occassion and how I am feeling, but at the moment I am obsessing with skirts, bodycon, maxi or midi.

4) Quais são os teus cinco factores-chave para andar sempre bem? What your five key factors to always look good?

1) Tenham a certeza que se sentem confortáveis no que vestem, se não se sentirem então não estarão felizes.

2) Tenham a certeza que se adequa à vossa personalidade.

3) Acessórios! Quer seja um colar ou um cinto para completar o look!

4) O modo como arranjamos o cabelo é tão importante como a roupa!

5) Sejam audazes e experimentem mas tenham sempre em atenção o ponto 1.

1) Make sure you are comfortable in what you are wearing, if you are not comfortable, then you won’t be happy
2) Make sure it suits your personality
3) Accessorise! Whether it be a statement necklace or belt to finish off an outfit!
4) How you style your hair is just as important as the outfit!
5) Be willing to experiment, but always remember point 1.

5) O que desejas para o futuro? What do you wish for the future?

Que a moda esteja acessível para toda a gente. Não importa o tamanho, altura ou forma. Todos merecem estar fantásticos!

For fashion to be available for everybody. No matter what size, height or shape. Everybody deserves to look good!

Girly Look

Hey, hey sweeties,

Hoje decidi mostrar-vos um look que me tira alguns anos de cima (digo eu na minha modesta opinião). Um vestido mais curto e umas sandálias com motivos românticos faz-me recuar um pouco no tempo às alturas em que as preocupações não eram muitas (porque às vezes também é preciso).

A realçar apenas as mangas do vestido que são em pele (um pouco quentes tenho que confessar) mas que dão ao vestido todo um look mais rockeiro!

Today I decided to show you a look that takes some years of me (well that just me saying). A shorter dress and a romantic sandals makes me go back to that time of our youth where we didn't had many worries (because sometimes it's good to turn back time).

Onde special word to the dress sleeves there are made of leather (a little bit warm I must say) but that give the dress a rocker touch!

Outside My Comfort Zone - Challenge #11

Hey curvies,

O tema de hoje foi escolhido pela Becky que depois de muito pensar adoptou "quebrar uma regra da moda" como o próximo desafio.

Esta foi uma ideia bastante boa e depois de muito pensar decidi arriscar pelo uso de uma mini-saia, que os mais sábios da moda, dizem ser desapropriado para quem tem pernas mais gordas como eu. Ora se é para quebrar é para quebrar e quero lá eu saber do que dizem os outros.

Comprei esta mini-saia há algum tempo mas lá está com o medo de a usar, está desde então guardado nos profundos cantos do meu armário. Mas chegou a altura para a usar e para balançar e criar harmonia no look conjuguei-a com um top preto e havaianas (outro erro pois deveria usar saltos para alongar as pernas).

Adorei o resultado final e vocês?

Today's theme was picked by Becky that after a lot of thinking chose  "break a fashion rule" as the next challenge.

This was a pretty good idea and after I lot of thinking I decided to take a change and wear a mini skirt, that according to the fashion wise, it's unappropriated for people who have fat legs like me. Well if the challenge is to break the rules, let's break it and I don't mind what other people say.

I bought this skirt a while ago and since I was afraid to wear it I kept in the deep of my closet since then. But the time to wear it has come and so to create some harmony and balance I wore it with and black top and flip flops (another fashion "mistake" because I should wear heels to make my legs longer).

I loved the final result and you?
